This time the amount is slightly lower, but with $8.1 million in her bank account, the most recent lottery winner will not have to worry about money. Only time will tell whether she will donate a portion of the jackpot or keep it all to herself, but it is hard to believe that she’ll follow Tom’s example and give everything away to charity.
The perfect way to end the year
Kim Kelly is the most recent winner of the Lotto 6/49 jackpot and the drawing that made her a millionaire took place on December 28th. She was recuperating after the Christmas holiday and gearing up for the New Year Eve’s party when she discovered that she matched all the winning numbers. It was the self-checker that delivered the good news and as many winners before she did, Kim assumed that there must be a mistake. Few lottery players actually expect to win and when the numbers popped up on the display she found it hard to believe the facts.

With the temperatures in the US and Canada drop many degrees below zero these days, it comes as no surprise that she chose to book a flight to a warm destination. A vacation is in order and unlike most people who need to make plans in advance and take days off, Kelly can linger for as long as she wants. Even before she departs, she plans on using some of the money to help her family and close friends.
